Sherwin Williams Super Show at Denver Convention Center 2011


This years paint trade show was Awesome! Food, Prizes and a bunch of paint nerds.

Sherwin Williams annual paint show is held in the Denver Convention Center. They had a great turn out for vendors including: Graco, Titan, Messmers, Duraseal, Global Polishing, 3M, Purdy.

I think one of the coolest products this year was the dual airless spray tip from Titan. This tip has a wide fan pattern and a smaller fan pattern built into one. The smaller fan is approximately 1/3 the size of the wide fan. This eliminates the need to switch out tips when switching from body to trim.

There is still a big buzz around the EPA's new lead abatement program. Any home painted prior to 1978 has to follow strict guidelines for painting procedures or pay expensive fines up to 30k! The big delima is that honest paint contractors rates are going to increase significantly to abide to new guidelines making most repaints for older homes unaffordable.

Overall the show was put together well. I cant speak for all but I had a good time, learned a lot, and will be back next year.
